Ethical Principles
By submitting an paper for publication in the journal Forum Wschodnie. Rocznik Interdyscyplinarny, the authors declare that the text has not been previously published and is not being considered for publication in another journal. To ensure the originality and high quality of the published papers, the Editorial Team, in cooperation with reviewers and the publisher, implements a reliable and multi-stage evaluation procedure based on available tools.
The following procedure is applied to ensure adherence to the high ethical standards recommended by COPE (https://publicationethics.org/):
Any papers in which cases of plagiarism, ghostwriting, or guest authorship are found are immediately rejected.
Members of the Editorial Team, within their competencies, assist authors and reviewers in exposing (potential) conflicts of interest and cases of copyright infringement.
In case of suspicion of a breach of good publication practices, the author is notified of the situation, and the Editorial Team requests an explanation and withdrawal of the publication.
If the author does not take the actions recommended by the editors and does not withdraw the unreliably prepared paper, the institutions with which the author is affiliated, as well as publishers and relevant scientific societies, are notified.
The Editorial Team has the right to remove the electronic version of the paper from the journal's platform if, after the text has been published, a violation of ethical standards is detected or the published data prove to be untrue.
The author is obliged to make every effort to ensure that the work submitted to the Publisher does not contain substantive errors and is scientifically reliable. If errors are detected, the author should immediately notify the journal's Editorial Team.
Forum Wschodnie. Rocznik Interdyscyplinarny does not tolerate plagiarism or any other forms of academic dishonesty. We take all necessary steps to ensure that all parties involved in the paper review process adhere to high ethical standards.
We carefully select reviewers from among recognized experts in the field of the evaluated paper, and before starting their work, they are obliged to inform us of any potential or actual conflict of interest.
Experts do not receive remuneration for preparing reviews at any stage of this process. The names of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors, but a collective list of the reviewers with whom we cooperate is available on the journal's website.
There are no fees for publishing papers in Forum Wschodnie. Rocznik Interdyscyplinarny.
Authors' Duties
Submitting a text for publication involves the obligation to sign an agreement in which the authors declare their own, original contribution to the creation of the presented research results. In the case of a publication prepared by more than one author, each co-author is obliged to sign a declaration of co-authorship. These actions are intended to eliminate the practices of ghostwriting and guest authorship described above, as well as to prevent cases of plagiarism.
By signing the agreement, the author declares that the submitted text has not been previously published in the country or abroad. The author is obliged to prepare the text in accordance with the formal and substantive requirements described on the journal's website, to take into account the reviewers' comments in the final version of the submitted text, and to cooperate closely and in a timely manner with the Editorial Team. The author also undertakes to verify the final version of the paper sent by the Publisher after the editing and typesetting process is complete (author's proofreading).
Editorial Team's Duties
By accepting a text for publication, the Editorial Team undertakes to make a timely decision on sending the text for review and to notify the author of the subsequent stages of the publishing process, both in the case of acceptance and rejection of the text.
Reviewers' Duties
By undertaking to review an paper, reviewers commit to respecting the deadline for preparing the text evaluation, maintaining the confidentiality of the review's content, and ensuring objectivity and scientific integrity during its preparation. Reviewers cooperate with the Editorial Team to eliminate unethical publication practices.
Conflict of Interest
All parties involved in the publishing process: authors, reviewers, and members of the Editorial Team, are obliged to inform the Editor-in-Chief of any potential or actual conflict of interest, i.e., financial or personal dependence on other persons or organizations.
